1. Service description
Spot Check is a weekly email newsletter that curates local events based on your stated area and interest preferences. Events are selected by our editorial process, which combines automated ingestion with human curation. We do not guarantee that every recommended event will meet your expectations.
2. Account and eligibility
You must be at least 16 years of age to use Spot Check. One account per person. You are responsible for keeping your manage link secure; anyone with the link can access and modify your preferences.
3. Free and paid tiers
The free tier provides one area, one interest category, and access to the newsletter archive. The Full Read (£2.99/month) provides unlimited areas, unlimited interests, and a budget cap. Payment is processed by Stripe. See our Refund & Cancellation Policy for billing details. For questions about payment, refer to Stripe’s terms of service.
4. Event submissions
If you submit an event URL, you confirm that you have the right to share it. Submissions may be edited for clarity before publication. Your name and email are not published alongside submissions.
5. Event accuracy
Event details are sourced from publicly available information. Dates, times, prices, and availability may change without notice. We recommend checking the event page directly before booking or attending.
6. Intellectual property
Spot Check, including its logo, design, and newsletter format, is owned by us. Event descriptions and listings are sourced from third parties and may be subject to their own terms.
7. Limitation of liability
Spot Check is provided on an “as is” basis. We are not liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of the service, including reliance on event details or missed events. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the preceding 12 months.
8. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. Significant changes will be communicated via the newsletter or email. Continued use of the service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
9. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
